OVERSEAS BUSINESSES

Overseas Businesses

We are always looking to innovate and cultivate new fields in our Strategic Investment operations. Indeed, we view progressive globalization trends as an opportunity to expand our business.
To date, we have focused our business expansion primarily in the United States and Asia. We have also been contributing to the local society in the tourism-reliant island nation of Palau since the 1980s. Our resort is designed to conserve the local environment and culture while creating jobs for the local community in Palau.

Expanding our real estate business worldwide

Since commencing our overseas business in 1973 with a residential land development in Guam, we have built a strong track record in the U.S. and 8 Asian countries.
In the U.S., we have built up an excellent rental property portfolio by focusing on "Value-add property investment", which increases the value of our properties through renovation.
In Asia, since entering the Indonesian market in 1975, we have contributed to local communities using experience gained in Japan to develop residences as the main developer. Recently, we have focused on growth potential throughout Asia by extending our reach to China and Southeast Asia.

Our Business in the United States

United States

  • Tokyu Land US Corporation (Los Angeles)
  • New York Office (New York)

After selecting key areas, we are developing our "Value-add property investment" for rental housing. We are steadily building a solid track record and establishing a stable earnings base by, for instance, promoting the first large-scale office redevelopment project in central New York in 50 years.

Our Business in Asia

Asia

  • Tokyu Land Asia Pte. Ltd. (Singapore)

From Singapore as a global financial hub, we promote business development in ASEAN countries by utilizing globally sourced information as well as the business experience, trust, and strong record that we have built through our overseas business development. To date, we have participated in a wide range of operations in Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Vietnam, and we are seeking to further expand our business by drawing on that experience and working with local partners.

Indonesia

  • PT. Tokyu Land Indonesia (Jakarta)

As the main developer, we are expanding our Japanese condominium brand BRANZ to Indonesia, the most populous nation in ASEAN. We are also developing a large-scale complex in central Jakarta and engaging in the leasing of our properties. Having been selected as the only foreign developer to receive the "BCI Best Developer" award, we view this as proof that our projects and contributions to the local community and environment are greatly appreciated in Indonesia as well.

China

  • TOKYU LAND CORPORATION (SHANGHAI) LTD.

China boasts the world's largest population and has experienced stable economic growth and progressive urbanization. Against that backdrop, we have been expanding our business primarily in China's buoyant housing market. We are looking to build flexible investment schemes to satisfy strong current demand, and expand our investment assets by further strengthening cooperation with local partners going forward.

The Republic of Palau

  • Pacific Islands Development Corporation

We have developed a resort that achieves ultimate harmony with nature in the Pacific Ocean island nation of Palau. The Palau Pacific Resort is a long-established resort hotel featuring overwater bungalows with stunning views. Our resort hotel strives to maximize customer satisfaction while also making sure to conserve the local environment and contribute to the local community.
