ROAD TO 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY

An estimated total of 457 GWh of electric power will be replaced by renewable energy, leading to an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of approximately 138,000 tons (*1), the equivalent annual emissions derived from electric power in around 68,000 general households (*2). The fact that electricity from renewable energy sources can be used by customers in our buildings (*3) helps them to gain a reputation as a company that cares about the environment.

  • *1.Uses the emission factor of 433g-CO2/kWh (national average factor excluding The Okinawa Electric Power Company, Incorporated) for general electricity transmission utilities in "Emission Factors by Electric Utility Operator” published by the Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
  • *2.Calculated based on an assumed annual electricity consumption per household of 4,573 kWh (Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association Labeling Guidelines for FY2021).
  • *3.Uses FIT non-fossil fuel energy certificates with tracking information. Information on the attributes of power stations can be linked to these certificates (renewable energy subject to the feed-in tariff systems), enabling the tracking of power stations using renewable energy, so the certificates can be used for RE100.
*Facilities Subject to Our RE100 Commitments
As a signatory to RE100, which intends that businesses should commit to 100% renewable energy use in their operations, and after talks with CDP, which administers RE100, the facilities subject to our RE100 commitments are as follows.
RE100 Commitments Tokyo Land Corporation (non-consolidated) Facilities
Facilities Not Subject to Our Commitments
Facilities held temporarily, e.g., those intended for future sale
Facilities used in joint projects, wherein those facilities are developed and/or operated chiefly by companies other than Tokyu Land Corporation
Facilities where the tenant has entered into an electric power supply contract directly with the power company
Facilities powered by Tokyu Land Corporation's cogeneration equipment (included herein because the Japanese market has no supply recognized as "green gas" by the RE100)
100% renewable energy pertains to electricity, and includes electricity generated from renewable energy sources for which a non-fossil fuel certificate with tracking has been granted.

*For the Sapporo Branch and Yokohama Branch, credits under the J-Credit Scheme are planned to be used for switching to renewable energy. The J-Credit Scheme is a carbon offset system that enables the indirect absorption of CO2 by acquiring credits from renewable energy sources that are deemed equivalent to CO2 reduction. These credits can be used for RE100.

TLC's Renewable Energy Business (ReENE)

We launched the renewable energy power business in 2014, operating solar power generation, wind power generation, and other businesses nationwide under the brand name ReENE. We have become one of Japan's leading renewable energy business operators in terms of business scale. We will continue to develop renewable energy generation facilities throughout Japan to utilize renewable energy for in-house power generation.
